Mongabay will be celebrating its 25th birthday at an event held during New York City’s Climate Week. The gathering takes place on September 27th at the Explorers Club NY at 5pm.

September 2024: San Francisco, CA (USA)
Jane Goodall is coming to San Francisco. Come celebrate Jane’s 90th birthday and Mongabay’s 25th anniversary on September 16th in San Francisco. Climate One’s Greg Dalton will be hosting a conversation between the conservation legend and Mongabay Founder and CEO Rhett Ayers Butler for the occasion of our respective milestones. The event will be held at Sydney Goldstein Theater, 275 Hayes St, San Francisco CA 94102. It will also be livestreamed and taped for future broadcast on the Climate One TV show on KRCB TV 22. Ticket sales benefit Climate One and Jane’s work.

Join us for the launch of Mongabay Data Studio in Madrid at Impact Hub Madrid – Alameda on February 20, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. The event, in collaboration with our partners at Vizzuality, will showcase Mongabay’s environmental data journalism, the tools we use to bring novel evidence into our stories, and the people who make them happen.

Mongabay convened nearly 100 events via the Bay Area Tropical Forest Network (BATFN) over a 10-year period. These events were held in a variety of locations with numerous different speakers covering a range of topics. About 3,000 people attended BATFN events over its history.
